A strength training workout will strengthen your body whilst building muscle, increasing both your energy levels and metabolism.
Adding weight bearing exercises into a strength training workout, as done in this DVD, has even more advantages. It makes your bones denser protecting you from osteoporosis and injury, while your joints benefit from the added support of increased muscle around them.
You can, however, complete a strength training workout effectively without weights, as done here in the resistance tube workout. (Note: The majority of other exercises in this strength training video can also be done without weights if you wish.)
The Strength Training DVD
Suitable for beginners through to advanced exercisers this strength training DVD gives you four full workouts, each using a different piece of home gym equipment.
Each workout is roughly 50 minutes long and includes both a warm up and a cool down within it, making for a smooth workout with no stopping and starting.
There is also a pre-class guidelines section which shows the set-up for each workout, and explains how to vary the intensity of the workouts to suit your strength now, and as you progress.
